On Shabbat we do no work, no cooking, no cleaning. We worship The Most High more leisurely. We pray and study his word more leisurely. We do not do our own pleasure. We rest from our work and our burdens and our worries. We spend time in the presence of The Most High. We spend time together as a family. We review what we have learned in the week. We encourage each other. If a man's ass is in a ditch, save it.
I am trying to get this Shabbat Thing down. I plan the perfect day of respite, but I am really bad at follow through. Shabbat is our day of rest, but I am not that good at being still for long. And so I need the rest all the more.
Welcome, Kodesh Ruach! We need your presence. We need your shalom.
